When a double-pane window starts fogging from the inside, the seal between the two panes has failed and moisture has gotten between them. The frame, sash, and hardware are usually still perfectly good — only the glass unit (the IGU) needs to come out. Most other companies will quote a full window replacement, because it is more profitable. We do not. We measure the failed IGU, fabricate a matching insulated glass unit in our Brooklyn shop, and swap it into the existing sash — usually within the same week, at roughly a third the cost of a new window. The new IGU comes with a fresh warranty against seal failure. We handle this work routinely across Manhattan coops, Brooklyn brownstones, and outer-borough rentals.
