A leaking skylight is a problem that gets worse fast — water finds drywall, then framing, then ceilings two floors down. Most leaks are not the glass itself but the curb seal between the skylight frame and the roof. We diagnose first, then fix the right thing. Sometimes it is a fogged IGU that needs swapping. My skylight is leaking — is it the glass or the seal?
Most skylight leaks are not the glass itself but the curb seal between the skylight frame and the roof. We diagnose on-site — checking glass, gaskets, and curb flashing — and quote the actual fix. If we find more than one issue we explain trade-offs before any work starts.Can you re-glaze without replacing the whole skylight?
Yes — in most cases. If the frame and curb are sound and only the glass unit has failed, we swap the IGU and reuse everything else. Much cheaper than full skylight replacement.Do you handle roof access?
Yes. We coordinate with building management for service-elevator and rooftop access, and we carry COIs accepted by most NYC commercial and coop buildings. For brownstones we typically access from the roof hatch directly.How long does a skylight repair take?
